Meet

Dr. Jennifer Taylor Onu Lebaka Menda, DAC, LAc

Licensed Acupuncturist | Certified Clinical Master Herbalist | Educator | Author

Dr. Jennifer Taylor is the founder of AcuHerb Community Circle LLC, an integrative acupuncture and wellness clinic in Southern Maryland. She brings a rare blend of scientific rigor and ancient healing to every patient she works with.

Jennifer holds a Doctor of Acupuncture and a Master of Acupuncture from Maryland University of Integrative Health. Her academic background also includes a bachelor’s degree from Agnes Scott College, a master’s degree in biology from Winthrop University, and a master’s degree in physiological sciences from the University of Arizona. She holds a College Teaching Certificate and has taught biology, zoology, and physiology at the university level for over 14 years.

Before transitioning to traditional medicine, Dr. Jennifer worked in biomedical research, managing cancer physiology labs and contributing to published research in the fields of oncology and cell physiology. Her roles included research associate and lab manager positions at Nuvox Pharma, the University of Arizona Cancer Biology Department, and the Cooperative Agriculture Support Services of the Citrus Research Board in California.

But after years of working inside the limits of the Western model, Jennifer saw how often patients were left unheard or unhealed. That realization—and her own healing journey—led her to study acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Chinese dietary therapy, where she found a more complete picture of health.

Her Approach: Integrative, Patient-Centered, and Rooted in Tradition

Dr. Taylor is deeply trained in both Five Element (5E) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She uses these frameworks together to treat not just symptoms, but the underlying energetic and constitutional imbalances that cause them.

Her practice is grounded in the belief that:

We are whole. We are connected. And the body knows how to heal—when given the right conditions.

At AcuHerb Community Circle, she offers:

  • Acupuncture using Balance Method, Five Element, and classical approaches

  • Custom herbal medicine formulations

  • GI-MAP testing and microbiome support

  • Chinese nutritional therapy and food energetics

  • Moxibustion, gua sha, qigong, and lifestyle medicine

  • A safe and inclusive space to heal physically, emotionally, and energetically

More Than a Practitioner—A Partner in Your Healing

Dr. Taylor is known for her grounded healing presence, clinical precision, and ability to connect ancient wisdom with modern physiology. She specializes in gut health, trauma recovery, hormonal balance, and emotional eating—and welcomes patients from all walks of life.

She lives in Leonardtown, Maryland with her husband, daughter, and son, and continues to build a community of healing that’s rooted in equity, compassion, and transformation. Her favorite things are pottery making, yoga, cooking and hiking.
